Faint
“All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.”
— Edgar Allan Poe
About the Book
April 2025
In Faint, the urban landscape becomes an ephemeral canvas where reality and memory gently blur into one another. Using an intentional camera movement technique developed specifically for the iPhone, each image captures the city as a spectral impression, a fleeting presence reminiscent of a barely remembered dream.
After capture, each photograph undergoes a deliberate and meticulous editing process in Lightroom, where I've applied a custom-developed aesthetic inspired by the timeless elegance of Pictorialism and the nostalgic beauty of expired film. This post-processing approach enhances the emotional resonance of each piece, accentuating the delicate balance between sharpness and ambiguity.
Comprising thirty carefully selected images, this book embodies the core vision of a.dream.long.forgotten - a photographic exploration into scenes that evoke whispers of past experiences, quiet reflections, and forgotten reveries. Faint invites viewers into an intimate world of softened edges and elusive forms, challenging perceptions of clarity and inviting personal interpretation.
Welcome to Faint, a visual meditation on the impermanence of memory and the beauty hidden within uncertainty.
